We’re excited for our first Pastors Training Course (PTC) of 2018 to be starting in Kenya this month.
PTC will be running in Kenya, Ghana, and Rwanda this year and will operate as a two-week intensive course.
The 2018 courses will be teaching a similar cohort to previous years. Many of the pastors have already completed introductory subjects to the Old and New Testament, and are set to expand their biblical knowledge even further.
The first course will launch in Kenya next Monday on the 5th of March, and is expected to have over 50 students.
This will be held in the coastal city of Malindi, which is located 120km northeast of Mombasa. This is a strategic location for AE as we aim to minister to the city’s growing Muslim community, which now account for over 50% of the population.
Pastor Stephen Dunlop and Dr George May from Australia have already arrived in Malindi, and are prepared to teach the course with the help of two lecturers from Carlisle College in Nairobi.
Our second ever PTC in Ghana will operate later this year, after we saw a very positive impact in 2016.
This year’s course will be the first time the course has run with all local lecturers. It will be led by our AE Team Leader in Ghana, Ben Sachie, and is expected to have close to 40 students.
The 2016 training in Ghana proved to be very effective for the mission we ran in Kumasi. We’re hoping and praying this training will see similar fruit when we run a mission in the capital city of Accra in November.
Our Rwandan PTC will also be launching shortly in the capital city of Kigali and is expected to have around 35 students.
This will be a similar cohort of pastors who were trained in May last year by Pastor Jack Normand and Pastor Greg Ball from Australia.
Some of the course has been translated into Kinyarwanda and has been used as discipleship training material in several church congregations across Rwanda.
The Rwandan course will be timely preparation for this year’s mission to Kigali in the middle of June.
We’re still looking to close our PTC funding gap of $49,000 by the 31st of March. If you’re passionate about equipping the new generation of African pastors with sound biblical training, please check out the link below.
Together we can empower them to strengthen and transform the Church in Africa.

We are so thankful for your support of AE, which in 2017 saw over 1 million people hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed in their cities, towns and villages. Praise God.
At AE we are rejoicing over the 83,000 souls that were won for Christ last year. Truly, we echo the word of Jesus says in Luke 15:10 “There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Your prayers and financial support of AE Missions and Aid & Development projects have been, and will continue to be vital to our ministry.
In the map below you can see the locations where AE carried out missions in 2017.

Please continue to pray that these new Christians would be well cared for and welcomed into local churches, and that their faith would grow to maturity.
2017 Mission Impact Report
Across Africa, AE is committed to running Missions that see whole cities reached with the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
In 2017 our 10 International Teams were led by the Holy Spirit to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to over 1 million people, and we commit 2018 to the Lord, eagerly anticipating that he will help us reach 1 million more this year.
There are 12 missions planned for 2018, which are listed below. If you have a heart for specific nation on this list, please contact us at ae@aeint.org, so we can send you updates as mission preparations commence, or head to our homepage and click on the relevant ‘Meet the Team’ tile.

AE Missions Overview
For over 56 years, AE has been committed to a vision:
To evangelise the cities of Africa through word and deed in partnership with the Church.
AE Founder, Michael Cassidy began this vision, and by God’s grace we have seen AE go from strength to strength, expanding into 10 field office locations and transforming millions of lives. In Australia in 2018 we are celebrating 40 years of AE Ministry!
Thank you for your support.
We’ve produced a video to celebrate our history, and to inspire you to look towards the future. It’s for you to share with your church, bible study group friends, and anyone you know with a passion for Africa.
There are projects to encourage and motivate everyone! If you’d like a copy on USB to show at your event, please contact the office at ae@aeint.org or call (02) 9899 1799.
AE CEO & International Team Leader Stephen Mbogo, who presents the vision video, is coming out to Australia to speak this year, from April 29 – May 14. Register your interest here.

Dessie is one of the darkest places in Ethiopia. Nearly devoid of the light of the Gospel of Christ, Dessie is a difficult place to spread the Gospel. Throughout 2017 our team worked with local churches in Dessie to train, mobilise and engage the church in reaching out to their lost city.
On December 20th the mission began on the wings of prayer from around the globe and at the end of mission week, the mission teams had shared the Gospel with 6,720 people and 650 of those accepted Christ!
A passion was ignited in the hearts of local believers that will burn for years to come. They have been equipped with the tools to evangelise effectively and it is a lesson that they will continue to use to reach their community.
Rev Wagnew, a local pastor, was one of the key church leaders who supported the mission and encouraged others to take part. “AE has become true partners with the church in Dessie. They came to us as co-workers in the Gospel, not as bosses. They did not dictate to us but facilitated us in ministering effectively. Because of their kindness and mindfulness even churches with great differences across the city were willing to work together for this mission.”
The mission made huge impact in many lives but none more than Nuru who have NEVER heard the name of Jesus before.
Good News for the first time
Nuru Hussein was living on the streets when he was approached by members of the Dessie Mission Team.
“After the death of my parents many years ago,” Nuru said, “I ended up living on the streets and became totally hopeless. One day some people came and told me about Jesus Christ. I am 25 years old and I have NEVER heard of Jesus before. They told me that He loves me and will take me to heaven. That was a new concept for me because as a Muslim I believed that my good deeds would get me to paradise.
I accepted Jesus there and then and the group took me to a church, washed me, fed me and clothed me. They showed me love and they listened to me. I look different now, but I feel like a totally new person. Even though I’ve only been a believer for a few days, I know that I am a new creation. I have peace in my heart that I’ve never felt before and I know that I am on the right track and that Jesus is the only way to heaven.
After I accepted Christ, I went to my relatives that I hadn’t seen in a very long time to tell them about Jesus and the new life I have. They resisted but I will continue to go and tell them. I want them to know Jesus like I do.”
